The Wade Family

Okay, so I don't normally do maternity sessions. But, when my old roommate and good friend Will and his wife called, I had no choice but to pack my things and make my way to their home. Below are a few of the images from our session. Congrats to the Wade Family on their upcoming bundle of joy!

Wedding - Ben n Kelli

Two words: Simply.......Amazing

That's the best way to describe it. Such an amazing ceremony, an absolutely stunning bride, and a very lucky groom! Kelli and Ben Hart were one of our favorite couples because they are also wonderful friends of ours. It was an honor to share in this new chapter in their life, be part of this special moment, and document the genuine love between a couple who has truly been annointed by GOD. Many blessings to Kelli and Ben on their union and may God continue to guide you on your journey together. We love you. - Carlyn & Derrick.

Wedding - Natasha n Gerald

"...The unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight"
   - 1 Peter 3:4

So, many of my photographer and wedding coordinator friends have encountered that one.....(dare I say it)......"crazy" bride? Sort of reminds you of something you've seen on the show, Bridezillas.

You're all too familiar with how the typical wedding day usually unfolds, right? Someone will be late, someone may have forgotten their tuxedo, the florist may have forgotten the bouquet, and let's not forget to mention the horrible instance when the couple has forgotten the wedding license. Urgency, panic, anxiousness, nervousness.....are all feelings to be expected during the "hustle and bustle" of a typical wedding day.

Well, Natasha was the total opposite of that. I had never experienced a bride like her before.  I spent a considerable amount of time with her, behind the scenes, documenting the day as it unfolded. During that time, Natasha had a sense of calm tranquility...it was almost surreal. The day turned out to be a wet and cold one, but she wasn't sad or somber. Bridesmaids did their usual thing, cell phones were ringing, people knocking at the door....nothing seemed to phase Natasha. Not once did her smile turn to a frown. Perhaps, we could all learn a thing or two from Natasha. The small intricacies matter not, life is about enjoying the moments God allows us to share with each other. Best wishes to Natasha and Gerald on a life full of enjoyable moments! -Carlyn & Derrick
